Beach to Beacon Registration Opens Tomorrow

Just a reminder, registration begins this weekend for the Beach to Beacon 10k.

If you are a Cape Elizabeth resident, you can register tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. and can avoid trying to beat the rush of the other 10,000 people that want to run for 24 hours (or at least until the 600 reserved slots are registered.)

Everybody else can try to register on Saturday morning.

Friday, March 12 at 8 a.m EST for Cape Elizabeth Residents
Saturday, March 13 at 8 a.m. EST for General Public

The 2010 race entry fee will remain at $35.
The new online registration process is as follows:

Phase One – Cape Elizabeth Residents: Beginning Friday, March 12 at 8 a.m. EST, Cape Elizabeth residents will have a 24-hour window to fill 600 slots. Addresses will be verified by race organizers to ensure Cape Elizabeth residency. Any non-resident attempting to register as a Cape Elizabeth resident will be rejected.

Please note: Anyone who successfully registers as a Cape Elizabeth resident who is not a Cape Elizabeth resident will be removed from the race entry database without refund.

Phase Two – General Public: Online registration will open to the general public on
Saturday, March 13 at 8:00 a.m. EST. Registration will remain open until 4,000 runners are signed up.
Phase Three – Lottery: Once the online registration limit of 4,600 is reached, visitors will be automatically directed to the lottery registration process. The lottery system will distribute 1,500 bib numbers. Lottery registrations will be gathered over a one-week period, ending at midnight on Sunday, March 21.
Streakers
- Streaker registration will begin on Tuesday, March 23 at 10 a.m. EST
- Each Streaker will receive their unique code on March 11.
- Please do not attempt to register on March 12 or March 13.
Sponsors, Elite Athletes, Charities
- Remaining bib numbers will be set aside for these categories and registration will begin on Tuesday, March 23 at 10 a.m. EST

Influenza pandemics are rare events, but recurrent.
